My second shooter and I traveled all the way to Dallas for this very unique (to us) wedding. Phoebe and Abel celebrated with both Ethiopian and American traditions on their big day. This was our first time experiencing an Ethiopian wedding so we were excited to be introduced to a new culture!
Phoebe’s big day started at her parents house, where they held a traditional “ceremony” known as the fight. Abel would have to fight his way into the house past family and friends in order to win the bride! How cool is that?! Needless to say, he definitely won!
We then ventured to the ceremony location at Bellawoods Events in Midlothian. A brand new, beautiful property that made for a stunning backdrop for these two. The ceremony took place in their lovely white chapel.
After the ceremony we headed over to Addison, TX (we went all over TX!) for their reception. Let me tell you, Bebe (Phoebe’s mother and wedding designer) went ALL OUT. From a waterfall, floating floral wreaths, vases filled several feet high with lush florals, gold and pink everywhere… She went above and beyond for her little girl! Definitely check it out for inspiration!
These two were so sweet and loving (and not to mention GORGEOUS) they couldn’t possibly take a bad photo. It was a real honor to witness their day and come all the way from Florida to shoot it! Thank you guys so much!
